Strengthening Academia Industry Ties in Sialkot
A delegation from the Technology & Innovation Summit (TIS) of the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan visited GC Women University Sialkot to discuss deeper collaboration between the campus and the business sector.
The delegation was led by Salman Awan and included Naeem Afzal and Sabour Ahmed, with oversight by Suleman Ali Mughal. University leadership, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Shazia Bashir, met with senior faculty and administrative officials to map out practical steps for partnership.
Both parties emphasized the need to expand internships, industry linkages and joint initiatives that give students real-world exposure. Strengthening academia industry connections was presented as a priority to enhance skills, employability and hands-on learning opportunities for graduates.
A formal invitation was extended to GC Women University to participate in the Technology & Innovation Summit 2026, scheduled for April 22, 2026 at Cantt View Marquee, Sialkot, signaling plans for continued engagement and visibility for student projects and industry collaboration.
University officials expressed optimism about building long-term partnerships with the business community to better align academic programs with industry requirements and to provide students with meaningful, practical experience through coordinated initiatives.
