Yasin Joyia Joins EBAA Committees to Expand Eye Donation

The Eye Donation Welfare Society has announced that its president, Yasin Joyia, was appointed as a member of the Donor, Partner and Community Relations Committee and the Member Value Committee of the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) for a two-year term.

His selection, among only 164 committee members worldwide, recognises sustained work to promote eye donation and facilitate corneal transplantation in Pakistan, and it underlines the country’s growing presence within the international eye banking community.

Over the years Yasin Joyia has helped strengthen public awareness of eye donation, foster international partnerships and improve pathways for patients to receive corneal transplants, efforts that have expanded opportunities for those affected by preventable corneal blindness across Pakistan.

“I am grateful to the Eye Bank Association of America for this honour and remain committed to ethical eye donation practices, stronger community engagement and international collaboration to widen access to sight-restoring treatment,” Mr. Joyia said.

The Eye Donation Welfare Society congratulates Mr. Joyia and anticipates that his service on these EBAA committees will further advance Pakistan’s contributions to restoring sight and strengthening global eye banking collaboration.
