In Islamabad, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, serving as the Senate Chairman, attended a farewell reception as chief guest for the outgoing Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan. The event, hosted by Luqman Afzal, CEO of the Monal Group, brought together political and civic leaders to acknowledge the ambassador’s diplomatic contributions.
Among those present were Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Defence Production Raza Hayat Harraj, Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik and the Prime Minister’s Adviser Tauqir Shah, alongside CEO Monal Group Luqman Afzal and a significant gathering of federal ministers, ambassadors, business community representatives and social figures.
The Senate Chairman conveyed his best wishes to the outgoing Italian Ambassador, praising her role in deepening the longstanding and friendly ties between Pakistan and Italy. He expressed confidence that diplomatic, cultural and commercial links nurtured during her tenure will continue to grow and benefit both countries in the years ahead.
The reception underscored the active role of Pakistan’s political leadership and the private sector in supporting international partnerships, with attendees highlighting the importance of sustained engagement between Islamabad and Rome for mutual progress.
