Pakistan Chicago Cooperation on Education Deepens

Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Mr. Ahsan Iqbal met Mayor Brandon Johnson during his visit to Chicago, with both sides focusing on Pakistan Chicago cooperation in education and institutional partnerships.

The meeting highlighted efforts to promote stronger ties between Pakistan and the City of Chicago, with particular attention on education, people to-people linkages, and closer collaboration between institutions. Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan places high priority on building stronger links with Chicago based universities and stressed the importance of quality education for the country’s future progress, innovation, and human capital development.

Mayor Brandon Johnson shared his vision of education as a foundation for inclusive growth, opportunity, and community empowerment. He also welcomed the prospect of deeper engagement with Pakistan and noted the value of strong educational institutions in shaping future generations.

Both sides also discussed ways to strengthen the sister city relationship between Lahore and Chicago, based on shared values, cultural ties, and the contributions of the Pakistani American community. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Sheikh, also attended the meeting.
