Five MPhil Scholars Defend Theses at Women University Mardan
MARDAN: Five MPhil scholars of the Department of Chemistry, Women University Mardan, have successfully defended their research theses in viva voce examinations conducted under the supervision of Dr Monazza Serwar.
According to a press release, Prof Dr Saira Arif of the Department of Chemistry, COMSATS University Islamabad, served as the external examiner for the viva examinations.
The scholars — Laiba, Javeria, Aimen, Omi Aimen and Reishma Wajid — qualified for the award of the MPhil degree after successfully defending their theses.
Their research focused on the development of innovative materials with enhanced physicochemical properties for use in sustainable energy technologies, photocatalysis, wastewater treatment and pollutant degradation. The findings are expected to contribute to scientific advancement by offering sustainable solutions to contemporary energy and environmental challenges.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana commended the successful scholars and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Chemistry in promoting a vibrant research culture at the university. She reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering quality research and innovation aimed at addressing national and global challenges.
The department expressed gratitude to Dr Naila Zubair, Head of the Department of Chemistry, and Ms Haleema Ikram, Director, Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB), for their support in the successful conduct of the MPhil thesis viva examinations.
The Department of Chemistry congratulated the five scholars on their academic achievement and wished them success in their future academic, research and professional pursuits.
