PMAS-AAUR Trains 45 Teachers in Use of AI for Teaching, Research
RAWALPINDI: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), through its University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT), organised a faculty development training programme titled “Artificial Intelligence for Everyone” from July 13 to 24, 2026.
The programme was aimed at improving the digital competencies of teachers and acquainting them with modern Artificial Intelligence tools for teaching, research and academic productivity. A total of 45 faculty members from different academic departments successfully completed the training.
Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Artificial Intelligence had become an essential part of the contemporary digital environment and was bringing major changes in education, research, industry and public services around the world.
He said universities needed to prepare their faculty and students to make effective use of AI technologies to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman added that faculty members equipped with modern AI tools could provide more engaging and effective learning experiences while also guiding students to use such technologies responsibly and ethically.
Director UIIT Prof. Dr. Yaser Hafeez thanked the vice chancellor, trainers and participants for contributing to the successful completion of the programme.
He said the training showed how AI tools could be incorporated into higher education while upholding academic integrity. He added that UIIT would continue to arrange similar capacity-building activities for faculty members and students to strengthen digital skills and encourage the effective use of emerging technologies across the university.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, shields and certificates were distributed among the trainers and participants.
