FDE’s Connected Classrooms initiative wins public sector innovation honour
Islamabad, July 29, 2026: The Federal Directorate of Education’s Digital Hub Connected Classrooms Project has been named the Best Project in the Public Sector Innovation of the Year category at a national-level awards ceremony.
The project was implemented under the leadership and guidance of Secretary Education Nadeem Mahbub. The ceremony was organised by the Asian Development Bank and the Tech Advisory Forum.
The award was presented by Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who attended as chief guest, along with a representative of the Asian Development Bank. Distinguished government officials, development partners and technology sector leaders were also present on the occasion.
According to the press release, the Digital Hub Connected Classrooms Project has helped transform teaching and learning across educational institutions in Pakistan and Overseas Pakistani Schools by linking classrooms through digital technology.
The initiative enables expert-led instruction, broadens access to quality educational resources and supports equitable learning opportunities for students in both urban and rural schools. It has also strengthened teachers’ digital competencies and helped create a sustainable system for technology-enabled education.
The recognition reflects the continued commitment of the Ministry and the FDE to modernising education through innovative, technology-driven solutions. It also reinforces their vision of providing accessible, inclusive and high-quality education for every child in Pakistan.
