Dry Conditions Expected Across Pakistan; Light Snowfall Likely in Northern Hills

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted dry weather across much of Pakistan this week, with only high-altitude regions expecting some rain.

Most parts of the country will remain dry, though hilly areas will likely experience colder nighttime temperatures. Smog and light fog are anticipated in many areas of Punjab, potentially affecting visibility.

The dry weather pattern is set to continue from today to Wednesday, with temperatures staying cold in the mornings and nights, especially in mountainous regions.

Northern areas may see partly cloudy skies, while smog and light fog will linger across Punjab.

By Thursday, smog and light fog are expected to persist in Punjab, while Gilgit-Baltistan may experience cloud cover and possible light rain in isolated locations.

From Friday through Sunday, the dry conditions will largely remain unchanged, but mountain areas in regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Swat, Dir, and Kohistan could see light snowfall.

The PMD has cautioned travelers in these areas to be prepared for possible icy conditions.

The recurring smog and light fog in Punjab are raising concerns about air quality, especially in urban centers. Health officials are advising residents, especially those with respiratory conditions, to take necessary precautions.

The PMD has also noted that visibility could be reduced in affected areas during the early morning and evening hours, urging drivers to exercise caution.
