Islamabad, 18 September 2026: More than one million citizens have registered for the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Programme within its first three days, marking a major milestone in the nationwide scheme.
The Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of IT and Telecom, has enabled the digital delivery of the Fuel Relief Programme, which is aimed at providing relief to citizens amid rising global fuel prices.
According to the details, the PDA developed the end-to-end digital system to manage and roll out the programme across the country. The digital infrastructure covers CNIC-linked registration, eligibility verification, fuel-token generation, redemption at participating fuel stations and overall management of the relief scheme.
The initiative supports Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of extending relief to eligible citizens through a transparent and effective mechanism.
The system has been built in close collaboration with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Petroleum Division and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), along with provincial and local administrations.
Officials said the milestone reflects how digital public infrastructure can support the rapid delivery of government programmes at the national level by bringing several government functions together for a single objective: providing relief to eligible citizens.
