Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal Applauds PHA Rawalpindi’s Beautification Efforts, Calls for Stronger Public-Friendly Initiatives

DG Ahmed Hassan Ranjha Outlines Green Vision for Rawalpindi in Meeting with Secretary Mengal

Rawalpindi — Secretary of the Housing and Public Health Engineering Department, Noorul Amin Mengal, visited the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi office where he held a key meeting with Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha to review and discuss the city’s beautification projects and future plans aimed at improving the urban environment.

During the meeting, DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha provided a detailed briefing on the department’s initiatives to enhance the city’s aesthetics and green spaces. He highlighted the achievements of PHA Rawalpindi in offering a cleaner, greener environment and outlined several ongoing and upcoming projects focused on public entertainment, plantation drives, and recreational development. Special attention was given to the beautification of Murree Road, one of the city’s main arteries.

Secretary Mengal commended the efforts of PHA Rawalpindi, describing the agency’s projects as crucial in promoting a livable and environmentally sustainable city. He especially lauded DG Ahmed Hassan Ranjha’s vision for a lush and beautiful Rawalpindi, calling it both inspiring and aligned with the broader public service goals of the Punjab government.

During his visit, Mr. Mengal also took part in the city’s plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) building, symbolizing his support for green initiatives. He later toured various PHA beautification sites across Rawalpindi, including along Murree Road.

Emphasizing a multi-departmental approach to urban improvement, Secretary Mengal urged all relevant government bodies to coordinate for the betterment of public services. He directed PHA Rawalpindi to enhance the number of shaded and comfortable benches in public areas and to develop more spaces for entertainment and leisure.

He also called for greater efficiency in implementing rainwater harvesting mechanisms, noting that such efforts are vital for water conservation and long-term environmental resilience. “Rain harvesting should be made more effective so that this natural resource can be used wisely and sustainably,” he said.

In response, DG Ahmed Hassan Ranjha reaffirmed PHA Rawalpindi’s commitment to environmental stewardship, stating that ensuring recreational access and maintaining greenery across the city remain top priorities. He also promised new and innovative projects in the near future aimed at further enhancing the city’s visual appeal and livability.
