PMAS-Arid University Successfully Holds First Nationwide Entrance Test for Fall 2025 Undergraduate Admissions

Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman: Education Without Borders Through Regional Testing

Rawalpindi: In a landmark step toward inclusive and accessible higher education, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) has successfully conducted its first-ever entrance examination for undergraduate admissions for the Fall 2025 session. The initiative marks a significant move toward standardizing the admissions process while expanding reach across Pakistan.

The university held its inaugural entry test on June 22 at its main campus in Rawalpindi and simultaneously in 12 other cities across the country, including Attock, Khushab, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Burewala, Multan, Rajanpur, Bhalwal, and Gilgit. The geographically diverse rollout was designed to accommodate a wide pool of aspiring students, minimizing the logistical and financial barriers of long-distance travel.

This entrance test opens the door for admissions into over 44 undergraduate programs at the university. The exam followed a swift registration period, which closed on June 20, though the university also allowed on-the-spot registration on the day of the test to facilitate late applicants.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman commended the success of the multi-city testing strategy and emphasized PMAS-AAUR’s commitment to ensuring quality education through well-qualified faculty and modern learning environments. He noted that holding tests in various regions exemplifies the university’s mission to foster equitable access to academic opportunities.

To further support applicants, a second entry test has been scheduled for July 20, 2025, with a registration deadline of July 18. According to Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Malik, Principal Officer of PRP, students who had registered for the first test but were unable to attend will automatically be eligible to appear in the second test without needing to re-register.

In tandem with these efforts, PMAS-AAUR is also investing in its digital infrastructure. The newly established Admission Office and Student Facilitation Center are part of the university’s ongoing digital transformation, aimed at improving the overall application and enrollment experience.

All prospective students are encouraged to visit the university’s official website at www.uaar.edu.pk for detailed information about programs, entry requirements, deadlines, and support services
