NUST Hosts Punjab Governor to Explore Youth Empowerment and Innovation

Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visited the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad campus for discussions on strategic collaboration, youth empowerment, research commercialisation and digital transformation initiatives.
Upon arrival, Governor Khan received a warm welcome from Maj Gen (Retd) Muhammad Arif Malik, Pro-Rector for Planning & Resources at NUST. The visit provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue aimed at enhancing cooperation between NUST and the Government of Punjab.
During discussions, both sides deliberated extensively on promoting youth empowerment initiatives, advancing commercialisation of innovative research, and accelerating digital transformation. Maj Gen (Retd) Malik presented to the Governor NUST’s holistic vision, which integrates academic excellence with innovation, research impact, and contributions towards national progress.
Governor Khan expressed admiration for NUST’s distinguished role as a national leader in higher education, highlighting its commitment to pioneering advanced research, productive industrial partnerships and meaningful community outreach programs. He praised particularly the university’s forward-looking approach in equipping Pakistani youth with internationally competitive skills, essential to sustaining a knowledge-based economy.
