Independence Day 2025 Preparations and National Unity

A high-level coordination meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal was held in Islamabad to discuss preparations for the “Maaraka-e-Haq” and Independence Day 2025 celebrations. The meeting drew participation from Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, as well as senior officials from relevant ministries and entities, including the ISPR, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, National Heritage & Culture, Inter-Provincial Coordination, and other concerned departments.
The meeting reached critical decisions, emphasizing that the Independence Day celebrations should be inclusive, representing all segments of society. It was unanimously agreed that comprehensive participation from all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir would be ensured.
Special instructions highlighted the importance of visually showcasing national unity, hope, and enthusiasm. It was decided to illuminate roads, highways, and cities with vibrant lighting arrangements to convey a message of optimism and unity to the global community. All relevant ministries have been directed to immediately begin execution of their respective assignments to ensure effective and timely implementation.
Minister Ahsan Iqbal stressed the significance of clearly communicating the purpose and objectives of the celebrations to the younger generation and general public. He asserted that the Independence Day observances must exemplify national cohesion, solidarity, and unwavering determination, turning this cherished occasion into a memorable national celebration.
Under the “Uraan-e-Pakistan” framework, the Ministry of Planning aims to utilize this year’s celebrations as a crucial component of a sustainable, meaningful, and inclusive national narrative, engaging all citizens in amplifying a unified patriotic theme.
