**UK-Pakistan Collaboration Enhances Emergency Response Capabilities**
The longstanding partnership between the United Kingdom and Pakistan continues to strengthen emergency response services in the country, with recent developments highlighting significant progress in training and resources. Mr. Ben Warrington, Head of the British High Commission in Lahore, visited the Emergency Services Academy to review the outcomes of this collaboration, particularly focusing on initiatives introduced by the late Scottish Member of Scottish Parliament, Hanzala Malik.
During the visit, Dr. Rizwan Naseer provided Mr. Warrington with an overview of how the partnership has transformed emergency services in Pakistan. The programme has facilitated the transfer of expertise from the Scottish Fire Service and the implementation of Motorbike Rescue Service techniques, contributing to the modernization of fire and rescue capabilities across the nation.
The visit featured live demonstrations by rescuers from Punjab and Sindh, who showcased advanced life-saving skills and operational strategies developed through training under the UK-Pakistan partnership. These initiatives have led to tangible improvements in how emergencies are managed, ultimately saving more lives and reducing disaster impact.
