**Pakistan’s Abdullah Nawaz Progresses at World Junior Squash Championship in Egypt**

Pakistan’s Abdullah Nawaz delivered an impressive performance in his opening match at the World Junior Individual Squash Championships in Egypt, securing a straight-sets victory to advance to the next round. While Nawaz’s triumph kept Pakistan’s hopes alive in the individual event, three of his compatriots suffered defeats on a day that showcased both the excitement and intensity of world junior squash.

The tournament’s first day drew international talent and energetic rallies, as Pakistan’s contingent began their campaign. Abdullah Nawaz, seeded [5/8], dominated his opponent from Macau, Keng In Leong, without dropping a set. He won 11-7, 11-0, 11-4, demonstrating both skill and composure as he moved confidently into the subsequent round.

The remainder of Pakistan’s singles hopefuls, however, faced tough matches. Anas Ali Shah [17/32] battled valiantly against Hong Kong’s Justin Cheng but was edged out in a 3-1 contest (11-6, 12-10, 8-11, 11-9). Despite a strong effort, especially in the second game, Anas could not overcome his higher-seeded opponent.

Muhammad Umair Arif [17/32] also exited the competition following a straight-sets defeat to Hart Robertson of the United States (14-12, 11-6, 11-9). Umair pushed his opponent hard in a tightly-contested opening game but was unable to capitalize as the match progressed.

Yahya Khan faced another American, Muhammad Haq, in a match marked by close scores and momentum shifts. Although Yahya managed to claim the third game in a tense 14-16 battle, he ultimately lost 3-1 (11-4, 11-9, 14-16, 11-6), concluding a spirited effort.

With Abdullah Nawaz moving ahead in the individual draw, Pakistan remains in contention as the championship continues. Meanwhile, Anas, Umair, and Yahya will redirect their attention to the upcoming team events, where they hope to regroup and deliver strong performances for their country.
