ECO Youth Forum in Aghdam Unites Youth for Climate Action

The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), in partnership with the Republic of Azerbaijan, has convened the first ECO Youth Forum in the city of Aghdam, aiming to strengthen youth engagement in building a sustainable and climate-resilient future. The event brought together young leaders, climate experts, and policymakers from across ECO Member States, fostering cross-border dialogue and collaboration in support of ECO’s Vision 2035.
The historic gathering focused on the central theme of “Enhancing the Role of Youth for Building a Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Future.” Participants engaged in a range of discussions and workshops designed to amplify youth voices in environmental governance, climate action, and regional innovation. Delegates collectively explored strategies to empower the next generation in addressing urgent environmental challenges and advancing sustainable development across the region.
Throughout the forum, sessions spotlighted the critical role of youth in driving regional cooperation, with leaders sharing insights and policy recommendations on how to cultivate adaptive, environmentally conscious communities. The event highlighted the intersection of youth leadership and climate resilience, reinforcing the need for inclusive participation in shaping the ECO region’s future.
A centerpiece of the forum was the emphasis on equipping young people with both the knowledge and institutional support necessary to implement effective climate solutions. Opportunities for networking and partnership-building were integral to the program, encouraging the creation of youth-led initiatives that bridge national boundaries and foster shared progress.
The inaugural ECO Youth Forum in Aghdam marks a significant milestone in the organization’s efforts to promote youth empowerment and positions the ECO as a central actor in fostering collaborative climate resilience across its member states.
