Bahrain and SCO Strengthen Cooperation in Beijing Meeting

Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) met with Mohamed Shaikh, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to China, at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing to discuss deepening bilateral collaboration. The talks focused on reviewing current cooperation and exploring future prospects, with particular attention to Bahrain’s role as an SCO Dialogue Partner.

A key topic was the implementation of the Memorandum granting Bahrain Dialogue Partner status within the SCO, a status conferred in 2023. Both sides expressed keen interest in enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties under this new partnership framework. The discussion also highlighted the importance of the Roadmap designed to strengthen cooperation between SCO member states and dialogue partners, outlining concrete steps for future engagement.

The meeting underscored the mutual commitment to advancing shared goals and fostering greater regional cooperation, in line with the Organization’s broader strategy to enhance dialogue among its expanding network of partners.
