Syed Rafiullah Elected Chairman of Overseas Pakistanis Committee

Syed Rafiullah, a Member of the National Assembly (MNA), has been unanimously elected as Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. The decision was made during a meeting held at the Parliament House in Islamabad, where committee members gathered to select their new leader.

At the outset of the meeting, the Joint Secretary (Committees) of the National Assembly Secretariat welcomed committee members and explained the election process. Syed Rafiullah’s name was proposed for the chairmanship by MNA Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti and seconded by MNA Mohammad Ilyas Choudhry. With no other nominations, Syed Rafiullah was unanimously chosen to lead the committee.

Following his election, the Joint Secretary congratulated Syed Rafiullah on behalf of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Secretary General of the National Assembly, promising full support from the Secretariat for the effective functioning of the committee.

Syed Rafiullah expressed his gratitude to fellow members for their trust and pledged to manage the committee’s business through consensus and cooperation. Committee members appreciated his remarks and assured him of their full support, particularly in the legislative process relating to overseas Pakistanis and human resource development.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Chief Whip of the ruling party, and Aijaz Hussain Jhakrani, Whip of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, both congratulated the new Chairman and offered their support to the committee.

The meeting was attended by several Members of the National Assembly, including Nasir Iqbal Bosal, Mian Khan Bugti, Fateh Ullah Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, Sofia Saeed Shah, and senior officers of the National Assembly Secretariat.
