TDAP and PIFD Advance Design and E-Commerce Collaboration

The Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Faiz Ahmed, visited the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) to strengthen collaboration on a major design and e-commerce initiative. The visit underscored efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship in Pakistan’s design sector, with a focus on equipping future designers to succeed in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

During the visit, Faiz Ahmed and a delegation from TDAP’s Textile and Leather Division were welcomed by Vice Chancellor Tayyaba Hina Khalil and faculty members at PIFD. The delegation was briefed on the progress of the Design & E-Commerce Centre at PIFD, a project valued at over PKR 241 million and supported by the Export Development Fund. The initiative aims to cultivate entrepreneurial skills in the fashion and design industry, provide access to modern digital tools, and support alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Faiz Ahmed reaffirmed TDAP’s commitment to working closely with PIFD, highlighting the Institute’s pivotal role in enhancing value addition within Pakistan’s textile and fashion sectors. He also noted improvements in Pakistan’s international reputation as a trade destination and increased economic engagement with Central Asian markets.

The visit concluded with an exchange of mementoes, symbolizing the ongoing partnership between TDAP and PIFD and their shared vision for the continued growth of Pakistan’s design industry.
