PMYP Lahore Qalandars Cricket Trials Celebrate Twin Cities Talent

The recent cricket talent hunt trials organized by the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) in collaboration with Lahore Qalandars have concluded with remarkable success in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The initiative drew thousands of enthusiastic young players, both boys and girls, highlighting the strong passion for cricket in the twin cities and underscoring the government’s commitment to empowering youth through sports.
During the two-day event, aspiring cricketers gathered in large numbers to showcase their skills in front of qualified coaches and representatives from the Lahore Qalandars franchise. After extensive assessments, one outstanding team of boys and one of girls were selected from both Islamabad and Rawalpindi, reflecting the depth of talent present in the region.
Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana praised the overwhelming participation and commended the dedication shown by the youth. He described the trials as a significant achievement and expressed his excitement at discovering top-tier cricket talent in the twin cities. Rana also extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for their pivotal roles in supporting the nationwide trials, emphasizing that such programs are essential for cultivating a robust sporting culture in Pakistan.
The selected players expressed their happiness and appreciation for being given the chance to compete and improve through this prestigious platform. They thanked the PMYP and Lahore Qalandars for making their dreams more attainable, promising to work diligently, represent the Qalandars with pride, and strive to bring glory to Pakistan on the international cricket stage.
