LAHORE: Pakistan’s fast-growing solar energy market, investment prospects in solar photovoltaic (PV) projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), net-metering policy developments and key issues confronting the renewable energy sector will be discussed at the 3rd International SolarPower Conclave & Solar Technology Excellence Awards 2026 in Lahore on September 24, 2026.
The event is being organised by Energy Update and will bring together policymakers, government representatives, energy specialists, solar industry leaders, technology providers, investors, consultants and other stakeholders. The conclave will provide a forum for discussion on the changing direction of Pakistan’s energy sector and the expanding role of solar power and storage solutions in the country’s future energy mix.
Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan will attend the event as chief guest. Senior representatives from the government, academia and the private sector are also expected to participate, with the programme focusing on policy, investment, technology and the future course of Pakistan’s solar industry.
The conclave will include two main panel discussions. The first panel, titled “Investment Opportunities in Solar PV and Battery Storage System (BESS),” will deliberate on investment potential in solar generation and energy storage, emerging business models, commercial and industrial applications, financing options and the role of BESS in strengthening energy reliability and system flexibility.
The second panel, titled “Solar in Pakistan – Challenges, Policy Reforms & the Way Forward,” will take up regulatory and policy issues, market trends, grid integration and the evolving framework for distributed generation and net metering. Industry experts will also discuss possible reforms and options for the sustainable expansion of the solar market.
Technical sessions will also form part of the conclave, covering latest solar technologies, Battery Energy Storage Systems, system efficiency, grid integration, energy management and technological progress shaping the next phase of Pakistan’s renewable energy transition.

The Solar Technology Excellence Awards 2026 will also be held alongside the conclave to recognise companies and professionals for their role in the development, deployment and advancement of solar energy technologies and solutions in Pakistan. The awards will acknowledge innovation, technological excellence and contributions to the country’s expanding renewable energy ecosystem.
The conclave is taking place as solar power assumes a growing place in Pakistan’s electricity landscape. At the same time, the rapid uptake of distributed solar has generated fresh debate on grid management, regulation, investment and energy storage.
Organisers expect the event to serve as a platform for stakeholders to exchange views and explore opportunities for a more reliable, sustainable and technology-driven energy future.
The 3rd International SolarPower Conclave & Solar Technology Excellence Awards 2026 will be held under the theme: “Solar PV, Net Metering & BESS: Powering Pakistan’s Next Energy Revolution.”
