Shoab Ahmed Khan elected P@SHA chairman unopposed for 2026-28

The Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) has announced the results of its Central Executive Committee elections for the 2026-28 term, with Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan elected as chairman with complete unanimity.

Dr. Khan, a seasoned academic and a prominent voice in Pakistan’s technology sector, assumes the role at a time described by the association as critical for growth and the country’s digital transformation. His election reflects broad confidence among the P@SHA membership in his technical expertise and strategic vision.

Accepting the position, Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan said: “I am deeply honored by the trust placed in me by the entire P@SHA membership. This is a pivotal moment for Pakistan's IT sector. Working together with the newly elected CEC, my immediate priority is to collaborate closely with the government on forward-thinking policies, accelerate skill development to meet global demands, and position Pakistan as a leading destination for IT innovation and investment. We must create an environment where local startups can thrive and our established firms can scale global heights.”

The newly elected Central Executive Committee for 2026-28 comprises a distinguished, diverse and inclusive group of leaders from the IT and technology industry.

P@SHA said former chairman Muhammad Zohaib Khan and CEC member Dr. Faisal Kamiran withdrew their nominations in favour of Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan, paving the way for his unanimous election.

The association has also announced the election of Wahab Yunus as senior vice chairman and Samad Saleem as vice chairman for the 2026-28 tenure.

P@SHA expressed gratitude to the outgoing leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to advocacy for the country’s IT and ITeS community. The association said the collective experience of the new leadership across various technology sub-sectors is expected to provide continuity as well as fresh momentum to its initiatives.

Established in 1993, the Pakistan IT Industry Association is the apex body representing Pakistan’s IT and ITeS sector. It works for the betterment of the IT industry and promotes growth, policy advocacy and development of the country’s technology ecosystem.
