Advancing PEIRA Reforms for Better Education

Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Chairman of the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority, presided over his first official meeting with the authority’s officers to chart a course for PEIRA reforms across Pakistan’s private education sector. The session focused on aligning daily operations with statutory responsibilities and improving outcomes for students and institutions alike.

The Secretary PEIRA delivered a comprehensive briefing outlining the Authority’s legal mandate, core responsibilities, ongoing initiatives, and operational mechanisms. The briefing provided a foundation for prioritising reforms that enhance regulatory clarity, streamline procedures, and support consistent implementation across regions.

The Chairman commended the dedication and performance of the PEIRA team and urged a renewed emphasis on operational efficiency, transparency, and service delivery. He stressed that sustained improvement and stronger regulatory oversight are essential to raise standards and ensure quality assurance within private educational institutions.

Reaffirming his commitment to institutional strengthening and good governance, Dr Mallah called for collaborative efforts across the Authority and with stakeholders to deliver measurable results. A proactive, results-oriented approach to PEIRA reforms was identified as central to promoting excellence, accountability and public confidence in Pakistan’s private education sector.
