Pakistan Secures ASOCIO Summit 2026 Host Role
Pakistan has been selected to host the ASOCIO Summit 2026, a development that underscores the country’s growing role in the Asia-Oceania technology ecosystem. The decision was announced during the ASOCIO Digital Summit 2025 in Chinese Taipei, where Pakistan’s active participation and strong performance drew wide recognition.
P@SHA, the leading trade body for Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services sector, confirmed the selection and described it as an endorsement of the nation’s digital capabilities. Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed said the hosting opportunity reflects global confidence in Pakistan’s tech ecosystem and readiness to welcome regional decision-makers, innovators and industry leaders.
Pakistan’s delegation at the ASOCIO Summit 2025 included 15 IT companies and recorded notable achievements, with seven Pakistani firms winning ASOCIO ICT Awards 2025 across areas such as artificial intelligence, digital services and enterprise technologies. These wins highlighted Pakistan’s progress in emerging tech and its competitive edge in regional markets.
At the summit, P@SHA leadership engaged constructively with ASOCIO Chairman Stan Singh and delegations from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and other member countries. Conversations centered on aligning digital policies, nurturing high-tech talent and expanding cross-border digital trade. Meetings also explored BPO partnerships, talent mobility programs and joint ventures with regional associations and CISA.
Pakistan showcased expanding IT exports, a growing corporate base and a skilled workforce. With more than 3,000 registered IT firms and over 600,000 technology professionals, alongside vibrant startup activity and one of the region’s youngest digital workforces, Pakistan positioned itself as a fast-advancing digital hub eager to deepen ties across East Asia and Oceania.
Support from national institutions including SIFC, the Ministry of IT and Telecom, PSEB and Tech Destination Pakistan will underpin preparations for the ASOCIO Summit 2026. P@SHA is advancing initiatives for export diversification, stronger ASOCIO-member startup collaboration, visa facilitation and intellectual property protections, and focused skills development in generative AI, blockchain and data analytics.
Hosting the ASOCIO Summit 2026 is being viewed as a transformative chance to accelerate Pakistan’s global technology footprint, strengthen regional cooperation and attract new investment and partnerships that will benefit the country’s IT industry and workforce.
