Ambassador Misbah Khar Meets Turkish Envoy in Islamabad

Ambassador Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate, has met with the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, to discuss strengthening parliamentary collaboration and international dialogue through the newly established Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC). During the meeting, held at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad and attended by Senate Director General (Protocol) Mr. Tariq Bin Waheed, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Khar briefed Ambassador Neziroğlu about the ISC, describing it as a new international forum designed to bring together parliamentary leaders and world officials to foster dialogue and develop practical solutions on pressing issues such as peace, conflict resolution, stability, and security. She highlighted that the ISC aims to serve as an inclusive platform for meaningful parliamentary diplomacy and collaboration among nations.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s leadership role in the initiative, Ambassador Khar noted that Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani had been unanimously elected as the first President of the ISC, reflecting broad international confidence in Pakistan’s ability to guide the forum’s objectives. She also extended a formal invitation for the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to attend the inaugural session of the ISC in Islamabad, which will focus on the theme of peace, stability, and security.

Ambassador Neziroğlu welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed Türkiye’s strong relationship with Pakistan. He expressed full support for Pakistan’s efforts and for the ISC, describing it as an important new platform with global relevance. Ambassador Khar, in turn, assured continued Pakistani commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation with Türkiye and promoting the ISC’s mission of dialogue and peace.
