Human Rights Dialogue Highlighted in Pakistan Netherlands Meeting

The Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, held a farewell meeting with Her Excellency Henny Fokel de Vries, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan, as she concluded her diplomatic assignment in the country. The meeting highlighted the significant progress in bilateral relations and human rights cooperation during the Ambassador’s tenure.
Senator Tarar welcomed Ambassador de Vries and recognized her efforts in strengthening ties between Pakistan and the Netherlands, particularly commending her contributions towards fostering dialogue on human rights and advancing the protection of minority rights. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to upholding human rights, in accordance with the nation’s Constitution and its international obligations.
During their discussion, the Minister briefed the Ambassador on ongoing government initiatives aimed at addressing intolerance and promoting social cohesion within Pakistan. He emphasized the country’s resolve to ensure the protection and inclusion of all communities.
Ambassador de Vries expressed her appreciation for the support and hospitality she received from the Pakistani government during her posting. She acknowledged the constructive engagement on key human rights issues and reaffirmed the Netherlands’ ongoing support for initiatives that promote inclusion, tolerance, and democratic values in Pakistan.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of warm wishes. Senator Tarar conveyed his best regards to Ambassador de Vries for her future endeavors and expressed hope for continued collaboration between Pakistan and the Netherlands in advancing shared values and human rights.
