Islamabad 7 October 2025 — Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq received Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh at Parliament House for talks that focused on strengthening bilateral ties, parliamentary exchanges and the newly signed strategic defence agreement.
Both leaders reviewed the wide-ranging Pakistan–Saudi relationship rooted in faith and long-standing cooperation, with the Speaker describing the strategic accord as an honour and a matter of pride for Pakistan. He said the Pak Saudi defence partnership marks a new chapter of enduring collaboration aimed at regional peace and development.
Dr. Abdullah underscored that the defence cooperation is intended to promote stability and is not directed against any third country. He called for expanded parliamentary ties between the Saudi Shura Council and Pakistan’s Parliament to foster deeper understanding and practical cooperation across legislative agendas.
The Speaker praised Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and diplomatic role, noting the Kingdom’s contributions toward a Gaza ceasefire and its steadfast support for Pakistan during past tensions with India. He stressed that Pakistan’s government and opposition stand united in pursuing stronger relations with Saudi Arabia.
Recognising Dr. Abdullah’s role in enhancing parliamentary links, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq announced that Pakistan will confer its highest civil award on the Saudi Shura chairman. The meeting reaffirmed commitments to expand economic partnership and regional collaboration while promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah.
The delegation included Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, and National Assembly members Syed Hafizuddin, Zeib Jafar, Malik Aamir Dogar, Sehar Kamran, Mujahid Ali and Noor Alam Khan, reflecting the parliamentary emphasis on sustained Pak Saudi defence and diplomatic engagement.
