Boosting Industrial Cooperation Between China and Pakistan

A Chinese business delegation focused on production equipment procurement visited the FPCCI President Office for talks aimed at expanding industrial cooperation with Pakistan. The delegation met with Atif Akram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and senior federation officials to discuss economic and industrial ties.

Delegates and FPCCI representatives held detailed discussions on the purchase of Chinese production equipment and mutually agreed to strengthen industrial cooperation. The talks emphasized practical steps to facilitate procurement, technology transfer and increased collaboration between Pakistani manufacturers and Chinese suppliers.

Atif Akram Sheikh highlighted that the industrial sector plays a central role in any country’s economic development and said Pakistan and China have significant potential to deepen industrial cooperation. He urged concrete initiatives under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor to establish joint industrial zones that can accelerate investment and manufacturing growth.

The president noted that modern Chinese technology can help Pakistan emerge as a regional economic hub by improving productivity and enabling value addition across key sectors. He also called for relations based on mutual respect and shared interests to ensure long-term business partnerships.

Present from the FPCCI side were Chairman Capital Office Kareem Aziz Malik, Chairman Coordination Malik Sohail and other senior officials. The Chinese delegation included senior executives from Shanxi and Ningxia emergency industry groups, including Mr Yong Yang Peng and Mr Liu Zhigang, among others.

Both sides agreed to pursue follow-up meetings and practical steps to facilitate equipment procurement and joint projects. Emphasis was placed on exploring CPEC-based industrial zones and targeted collaborations that can deliver tangible benefits to Pakistan’s manufacturing base through strengthened industrial cooperation.
