Promoting Shah Ahmad Norani’s Legacy with New Editions
A special launch at the National Press Club Islamabad unveiled the latest Anwaar Raza quarterly and a number of new publications that document the religious, political and social services of Shah Ahmad Norani. The event, held to mark the anniversary of the late leader, was presided over by Dr Colonel Muhammad Sarfraz Saifi and attended by senior religious scholars, politicians and journalists from across Pakistan.
Speakers including former Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan, Maulana Malik Mehbub-ur-Rasool Qadri, Professor Dr Muhammad Asif Hazravi and Allama Gulzar Hussain Naeemi paid tribute to Shah Ahmad Norani and described his decades-long struggle for the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat movement and the campaign for implementing the Nizam Mustafa as a priceless chapter in both Islamic and Pakistani history. They said Shah Ahmad Norani was a strong and effective voice for the Muslim community.
Organisers explained that in December, on the Joharabad platform, multiple books and special editions dedicated to Shah Ahmad Norani’s religious and national services were published, adding to an archival series that now numbers 18 previous issues. These publications gather contemporary newspaper reporting and historical material to preserve an authentic documentary record for future generations.
Speakers warned that while electronic media dominates today, it cannot fully replace print as a reliable historical reference. They urged readers and institutions to strengthen ties with books and printed scholarship to protect Islamic literature, arguing that reliance solely on digital sources risks creating a large knowledge gap for the Muslim community.
The ceremony also served as an isal-e-sawab session for Shah Ahmad Norani, with prayers offered for the elevation of his ranks and for guidance to continue efforts toward implementing the Nizam Mustafa and defending the honour of the Prophet. Attendees received copies of the new publications, and gifts of the Anwaar Raza edition were presented to Professor Khalid Jilani Twana, Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan, Professor Ahmad Bakhsh Togravi, Allama Gulzar Hussain Naeemi and Muhammad Afzal Butt.
Organisers expressed hope that the new editions will strengthen the record of Shah Ahmad Norani’s contributions and encourage renewed commitment to religious scholarship and civic action in Pakistan. They urged institutions, scholars and the public to support the preservation and dissemination of these printed works as an essential resource for the nation and the wider Muslim world.
