**UN Women and KOICA Launch Digital Startup Roundtable to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Islamabad**
UN Women Pakistan, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has launched the Digital Startup Roundtable Series in Islamabad to promote economic empowerment for young women through digital innovation. The initiative seeks to enhance women’s participation in entrepreneurship by equipping them with vital digital skills and fostering an environment conducive to leadership and financial independence.
The roundtable gathered a dynamic mix of thought leaders, innovators, policy experts, development partners, and aspiring young women entrepreneurs. This diverse forum served as a platform for dialogue on how digital skills can open new avenues for women in business, addressing both the transformative benefits and the persistent challenges faced within Pakistan’s growing digital sector.
Discussions highlighted the critical need for inclusive technology and equitable access to innovation. Participants expressed that fostering strategic partnerships across public and private sectors is essential for sustainable progress and for closing the gender gap in digital entrepreneurship.
Organizers of the event emphasized that this series is designed to act as a catalyst for women-led startups. By encouraging investment in women’s digital education and professional development, the initiative aims to strengthen women’s economic participation and inspire further initiatives supporting female entrepreneurs in Pakistan’s digital economy.
