Abdul Qadir Memon Leads PBSA into New Era
At the Annual General Meeting held at Karachi Gymkhana Club, Abdul Qadir Memon has been elected President of the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association. Mr. Memon, who has previously served as Senior Vice President and Honorary Treasurer of the association, arrives with deep administrative experience that he says will be directed toward strengthening Pakistan snooker and billiards at all levels.
Throughout his legal career Mr. Memon has been closely associated with tax and bar organisations, serving as Patron of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association and as President of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association and the Karachi Tax Bar Association for two terms each. His leadership in these bodies underscores a background in governance and institutional reform that will inform his approach at PBSA.
Mr. Memon’s corporate and market experience includes chairing the National Clearing Company of Pakistan, Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited and BankIslami Modarabas Investment Ltd, alongside directorships at Pakistan Stock Exchange Ltd, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, the Institute of Corporate Governance and the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan. He intends to apply this governance and financial oversight expertise to improve transparency and development pathways within Pakistan billiards and snooker.
Active in civic and sporting circles, Abdul Qadir Memon has led the Pakistan Junior Chamber International and the Memon Professional Forum and remains engaged in sports activities nationally and during extensive international travel. He also contributes to health and welfare causes as President of the Patients’ Behbud Society for The Aga Khan University Hospital and as a Trustee of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Pakistan. His election signals a focus on stronger institutional structures, grassroots development and wider community engagement for the sport across Pakistan.
