Advancing Bhutto Legacy Through Political Mobilization

Chaudhry Nadeem Qaiser, central vice president of the Pakistan Peoples Party UK and CEO of Bhuttoism International WhatsApp Groups, said the late Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto instilled a belief that true power springs from the people and that his ideas continue to inspire Pakistan’s marginalized communities. Speaking at a ceremony marking Bhutto’s 98th birth anniversary, Qaiser urged party workers and supporters to carry forward the Bhutto legacy through sustained political engagement.

Qaiser credited Bhutto with delivering the unanimous 1973 constitution, which he described as a cornerstone for federal governance, a parliamentary system and guarantees of fundamental rights. He said the constitution and Bhutto’s vision created political awareness among ordinary Pakistanis, enabling them to defend their rights against tyranny and oppression.

The speaker praised Bhutto’s four-year tenure for introducing historic reforms that, in Qaiser’s view, laid the foundations of a stronger Pakistan. He argued that Bhutto united the oppressed against entrenched privilege and challenged the prevailing capitalist order to uplift disadvantaged classes, a theme he said remains central to the party’s mission today.

At the event, Qaiser also highlighted Bhutto’s diplomatic role on international forums, noting his clear stance on Kashmir at the United Nations and other platforms. He described Bhutto’s emphasis on a robust, invincible national defence as consistent with the leader’s broader vision for Pakistan’s sovereignty and security.

Present at the ceremony were central secretariat in-charge Syed Sabt al-Hasan Bukhari, PPP Gilgit-Baltistan president Amjad Hussain Azar, Saadia Abbasi, Yaseen Almani, Anwar Khan Jadun, Raja Ashfaq Kiani, Rabia Gujar, Maqsood Hussain and other party members who joined in reaffirming commitment to Bhutto’s ideals.

Qaiser said the Pakistan Peoples Party, under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, continues to struggle for the basic rights of the people and remains dedicated to finding lasting solutions to political, economic and social problems such as poverty and unemployment. He called for a renewed adoption of Bhutto’s political and economic policies to confront current national challenges and advance the party’s public welfare agenda.
