Building Health Volunteer Capacity in Sindh

Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh organised an orientation session to build a trained network of Health Volunteers able to support emergency medical response and community health across the province. The session emphasised practical skills, coordination and community engagement to strengthen local readiness.

The Provincial Secretary, the Honorary Treasurer and a member of the Health Committee attended and engaged with PRCS staff, underlining the branch’s commitment to volunteer-led health initiatives in Sindh.

Interactive sessions were delivered by Disaster Management, Health, Youth and Volunteer, and Climate teams, giving volunteers scenario-based exercises and guidance on rapid response procedures. Trainers focused on teamwork, referral pathways and approaches to community-based outreach to ensure volunteers can act effectively in emergencies.

Team-building exercises reinforced collaboration and the spirit of humanitarian service, preparing volunteers to support faster medical response and wider community health programmes. Strengthening Health Volunteers in Sindh aims to enhance provincial capacity for timely, locally-led health interventions.
