Digital Media Cricket Team Triumphs in Islamabad
The National Press Club Islamabad hosted a friendly match at Shalimar Cricket Ground where the Digital Media Cricket team emerged victorious over National Media by 28 runs. Captained by Ahmed Najib Satti, the Digital Media side chose to bat after winning the toss and posted 138 for 7 in the allotted 15 overs.
Kashif Majeed anchored the Digital Media innings with a standout 62, earning him the Man of the Match award. For National Media, Abrar Astori produced an impressive bowling spell, claiming three wickets and later being honoured as the match’s best bowler.
Chasing 139, the National Media batting lineup struggled to keep pace and managed 110 runs in their 15 overs. Haroon Mughal was the top scorer for National Media with 40, but his efforts were not enough to overhaul the target set by the Digital Media team.
The match concluded with Digital Media winning by 28 runs, and captain Ahmed Najib Satti received the winning trophy. Awards for individual performances were presented by the match guests of honour, Huzifa Rehman, Minister of State for Culture and National Heritage, and Parliamentary Secretary Danial Chaudhry.
Organisers from the National Press Club acknowledged the work of their leadership in staging the fixture, with thanks expressed to President Abdur Razaq Siyal, Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao and Finance Secretary Abid Abbasi for their efforts in making the friendly match at Shalimar Ground possible.
