Pakistan Bangladesh Religious Ties Strengthened Through Dialogue

A Bangladeshi delegation led by Advisor to the President for Religious Affairs, AFM Khalid Hussain, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, in Islamabad. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of religious affairs between the two countries.

The Bangladeshi delegation expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by recent floods in Pakistan, extending their condolences and solidarity to the Pakistani people. In response, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf emphasized the close and brotherly ties that exist between the peoples of Pakistan and Bangladesh. He highlighted the long-standing relationship based on shared traditions, Islamic heritage, social values, and literary expression.

Both sides agreed that improved relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh would have a positive impact on the broader region. The Bangladeshi Advisor thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their warm welcome and hospitality.

During the meeting, both delegations discussed ways to enhance cooperation between their respective Ministries of Religious Affairs. The Bangladeshi Advisor stated that steps would be taken to foster closer collaboration in this area.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf proposed the exchange of religious scholars and students from seminaries to further promote mutual understanding. Additionally, both sides agreed to establish a joint working group aimed at fostering interfaith harmony between the two countries.

The Bangladeshi delegation is also set to participate in the two-day International Seerat Conference taking place in Pakistan.
