Securing Rawalpindi for Pakistan South Africa Test
Rawalpindi security is fully mobilized for the opening day of the Pakistan vs South Africa Test as police implement comprehensive safety and traffic measures under the direction of CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani. More than 5,500 officers of the Rawalpindi Police are deployed to cover security duties at and around the stadium to maintain public safety and order.
For traffic management, over 367 officers have been assigned to ensure smooth movement and minimize disruption for residents and matchgoers. Authorities have arranged clear routing and on-ground support to help commuters reach their destinations with minimal delay.
Senior officers are present in the field to check personnel and provide briefings, while rooftop positions have been secured with snipers to strengthen perimeter protection. Monitoring operations are being conducted through Safe City and other CCTV networks, with a dedicated control room established to coordinate surveillance and rapid response.
Thana mobile units along with Elite and Dolphin squads are conducting continuous patrols in the vicinity of the stadium to deter incidents and respond quickly to any situation. These combined measures reflect a coordinated effort to deliver foolproof Rawalpindi security and efficient traffic arrangements for citizens attending or transiting during the Test match.
