Launching Padel Courts at PTF Tennis Complex
Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, inaugurated the newly constructed padel and mini tennis courts at the Pakistan Tennis Federation Tennis Complex in Islamabad. He was accompanied by Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the PTF, as the new facilities were unveiled for public and youth use.
Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan praised the Pakistan Tennis Federation and its leadership, saying that tennis is progressing strongly under Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi. He affirmed that the Government of Pakistan and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme fully support the expansion of facilities and programs designed to grow the sport nationally.
Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi thanked Mr. Rana Mashood for inaugurating the courts and stressed the dual utility of the project. The newly built courts will function as padel courts and as mini tennis courts for children, creating accessible entry points for youngsters and encouraging early participation. ‘These courts will play a vital role in introducing tennis to young kids at an early age, encouraging their interest and participation in the sport,’ he said, noting that similar approaches have succeeded internationally and now aim to benefit Pakistani youth.
The ceremony drew a wide range of attendees including former Davis Cup player Rashid Malik, Major Suleman Junaid SEVP-PTF, Mr. Rehan Munir Malik, Col. Gul Rehman Director C&S – PTF, national and foreign players, coaches, parents, media representatives and PTF officials. The launch of these padel courts marks a concrete step toward strengthening grassroots tennis development across Islamabad and beyond, offering a practical platform to introduce more children to the sport.
