NDMA Partnership Boosts UK Diaspora Collaboration
The National Disaster Management Authority has formalised a new collaboration by signing a Letter of Agreement with the British Pakistani Welfare Association, one of the foremost diaspora organisations in the United Kingdom. The agreement builds on NDMA’s recent engagement with the Pakistani diaspora in North America and represents the next step in expanding international ties.
Through this NDMA partnership, the Authority aims to harness diaspora expertise, advocacy and resources to bolster disaster preparedness and climate resilience across Pakistan. The agreement emphasises cooperative work on early warning, community preparedness and capacity building, tapping into technical skills and advocacy networks within the UK-based Pakistani community.
Under the visionary leadership of the Chairman NDMA, the Authority continues to pursue a proactive, technology-enabled disaster management approach. This engagement with BPWA is part of a broader strategy to forge lasting global partnerships that support local resilience efforts and improve response capabilities for communities at risk.
By deepening ties with diaspora organisations, the NDMA partnership seeks to create sustainable channels for knowledge exchange and support that benefit Pakistan’s disaster planning and climate adaptation initiatives. The move underscores a commitment to collaborative solutions and international cooperation for a safer, more resilient country.
