Islamabad: Natasha Saman, a dedicated lawyer hailing from Bannu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is using the power of social media to assist and guide women in her region and beyond. Through platforms like Instagram and Messenger, Natasha has become a beacon of support for women seeking legal advice and guidance on various matters.In an exclusive interview with PeakPoint, Natasha Saman shed light on her unique role as a lawyer and social activist.
As a lawyer of the Peshawar High Court, Natasha is breaking barriers by using social media to bridge the gap between legal knowledge and women in need.
She proudly shared that she was the first female lawyer to establish an office in Bannu, a feat made possible with her father’s unwavering support.
Natasha’s motivation to become an advocate stemmed from a desire to wield influence and help women who often go unnoticed and unsupported.
“I chose the profession of advocacy because I loved power and secondly I thought that I should help women whom no one asks for,” Natasha remarked.
Through her digital presence, Natasha receives messages from women across different areas, primarily Bannu. Unfortunately, many of the issues brought to her attention are domestic concerns that women face. Additionally, Natasha has received reports of harassment from various regions, including Bannu, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, and DI Khan.
Natasha highlighted her commitment to counseling young girls through social media.
She allocates dedicated time to assist women, recognizing the lack of proper guidance available to them. However, she noted that some women, despite seeking guidance, hesitate to take legal action due to societal constraints.
