Experience NCA Triennale Nights of Ghazal and Qawwali

Evenings at the NCA Triennale came alive on Day 14 with mesmerising ghazal and qawwali performances that left a packed audience enthralled and reflected Lahore’s vibrant arts scene.

The programme featured soulful renditions by Mohsin Fayyaz, a talented first year student, and a dynamic student ensemble Mayon-e-Echar composed of third year performers. Mayon-e-Echar presented a cultural celebration of North Pakistan’s musical heritage, drawing on regional melodies and time-honoured traditions.

Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, vice chancellor of NCA, praised the students’ dedication and artistic expression, emphasising the need to preserve both classical and contemporary musical traditions. His remarks underlined how events within the NCA Triennale nurture emerging talent and strengthen cultural continuity.

The evening blended classical poetry with vibrant musical arrangements, showcasing the creativity and passion cultivated at NCA Lahore and reaffirming the Triennale’s role in promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. Audience members departed inspired by performances that honoured tradition while embracing fresh interpretation.
