Jashwa Amjad and Abdul Rauf Lead Chaudhry Golf Cup

The 11th edition of the Chaudhry Golf Cup moved into a decisive phase as second-round play at Defence Raya Golf & Country Club in Lahore produced tight leaderboards in both Amateur and Senior Amateur divisions.

Jashwa Amjad of RGC posted a gross 150 and a net aggregate of 140 to sit atop the Amateur net standings after two rounds. Amjad’s steady approach play and controlled scoring on the outward nine helped him build a slender advantage, while competitors produced brighter individual holes but lacked his consistency.

Hussain Hamid (RP) carded a gross 147 and matched Amjad with a net 140 but sits behind on tie-break criteria, keeping pressure high heading into the final round. Salman Gulzar (Raya) and teammates Syed Hassan Askari and Khurram Khalid Khan are clustered at net 142, with Abdullah Ansar (DHA Karachi) a stroke further back at net 143 after recovering from mid-round slips. Several familiar names including Brig Asif Maqsood and Usman Akram Sahi remain within a few strokes, leaving the Amateur title very much undecided.

In the Senior Amateur division Abdul Rauf Ali (RP) produced one of the day’s most disciplined displays, finishing with a gross 151 and an impressive net 137 to claim first net position. His patient course management and steady putting were key to moving ahead in the senior ranks.

Ahmed Zafar Hayat (RP) delivered the best gross round, shooting 143 to take the lead in gross standings by keeping costly bogeys at bay. Air Commodore Tariq Usman (PAF Sky View) holds second net at 143, while Col Ikram-ul-Haq (Raya) is third net at 145. In gross results Haider Malli sits third at 148, and experienced seniors such as Umair Butt and Brig Muhammad Masood remain close enough to influence the outcome on Sunday.

With narrow margins and variable winds expected at Defence Raya, the Chaudhry Golf Cup heads into its final day on Sunday, November 23, 2025, promising a tense finish and a competitive prize distribution as Pakistan’s top amateurs vie for one of the country’s respected amateur trophies.
