Erdogan Underpass Eases F-8 Traffic Flow
The Erdogan underpass in Islamabad’s F-8 sector is receiving widespread praise for improving traffic flow and noticeably reducing congestion, allowing vehicles to pass with fewer stops and saving commuters time.
Residents and drivers say the underpass has made daily travel faster and more convenient: "The underpass is very well built, vehicles pass without stopping, traffic has eased and commuting time is reduced," one commuter said, while others noted the design prioritises user convenience and has simplified movement across the area.
CDA officials stressed that the project followed engineering standards and approved plans, stating that the construction used high-quality materials and design specifications and that no changes were made to the master or lower plans during execution.
Islamabad Traffic Police also reported measurable improvements, noting that areas which previously experienced heavy congestion now see a steady stream of vehicles: "After the underpass opened, traffic flow has become much smoother at former bottlenecks," the department said.
The combined feedback from commuters, CDA and traffic police indicates the Erdogan underpass is a successful, citizen-focused infrastructure addition in Islamabad that delivers practical relief for daily commuters and strengthens the city’s traffic network.
