Driving AI Adoption with Indus AI Week 2026

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced the launch of Indus AI Week 2026, a week-long national initiative to accelerate AI adoption across Pakistan from 9 to 15 February 2026.

Organised by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication through a public–private partnership, Indus AI Week will bring together government, industry, academia, startups, students and the wider technology community to build capacity, raise awareness and promote practical AI use in public and private sectors.

The programme will feature a national technology showcase alongside innovation and startup spotlights that connect founders with investors, together with skills training and certification opportunities for students and professionals, a gaming and experiential AI arena and interactive public engagement designed to demystify artificial intelligence and broaden access.

The national launch begins with the Indus AI Summit at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad on 9 February, followed by the Innovation, Learning and Engagement Arena at the Islamabad Sports Complex on 9 and 10 February, while universities, companies and public institutions across the country will host co-branded Indus AI Week activities from 9 to 15 February.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the National AI Policy introduced last year set the foundation for responsible and inclusive AI development and that Indus AI Week is intended to move the country beyond dialogue toward tangible adoption, connecting policy, industry and talent and inviting international partners, investors and innovators to engage with Pakistan’s growing AI landscape.

By showcasing practical applications and linking talent with opportunity, Indus AI Week aims to position Pakistan as a credible participant in the global AI ecosystem and to embed artificial intelligence as a strategic tool for national development and international collaboration.
