Rapid Chess Action in Rawalpindi by Knights Academy

The 2nd Rapid Open Chess Tournament organized by Knights Chess Academy took place on 1st February 2026 at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex in Rawalpindi, drawing strong local interest and competitive play. The event showcased fast-paced Rapid Chess and offered a platform for players across age groups to test their skills.

More than 30 players from different cities participated, with ages ranging from 9 years to over 70. The presence of national-level competitors raised the standard of play and created valuable learning moments for younger participants, who benefited from competing against more experienced Rapid Chess players.

Organizers provided a welcoming tournament environment at the Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, and a traditional Chicken Biryani lunch was served to participants and guests, fostering camaraderie among players and supporters. The mix of youthful enthusiasm and veteran experience highlighted the growing interest in chess at the community level.

The tournament concluded with cash prizes awarded to the top three finishers. Prizes were presented by Knights Chess Academy CEO Mr. Yasir Hussain alongside National Master Mr. Liaqat Ali, underscoring the academy’s commitment to promoting Rapid Chess and nurturing emerging talent in the region.
