Driving Islamabad development with youth and investment

A focused consultative meeting brought together key officials to discuss Islamabad development and the role of youth in the capital’s progress. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman PM Youth Programme, met with Focal Person Overseas Affairs and Business and Trade Linkages Shaharyar Memon and Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon for a detailed exchange on administrative improvements and ongoing projects.

The discussion covered current development projects across the city, measures to improve urban services and the importance of creating expanded opportunities for young people. Emphasising the need for an integrated approach, the Chairman stressed that Islamabad development depends on harnessing youth skills through targeted programmes and wider access to employment and training.

The Deputy Commissioner outlined ongoing administrative steps to enhance civic order, sanitation, traffic management and public amenities, while the focal person for overseas affairs highlighted plans to encourage Pakistani investors abroad to consider opportunities in Islamabad. Strengthening inter-agency coordination and improving government-to-investor outreach were identified as priorities to accelerate investment and service delivery.

Participants agreed to deepen collaboration through joint planning and closer communication between departments to ensure upcoming events and programmes succeed. There was a shared commitment to translate policy into action so that Islamabad development becomes more organised, dynamic and responsive to the needs of its youth and business community.
