Empowering Women Through Ramadan Bazaar
A special event at the Women’s Ramadan Sahulat Bazar in Sector G-11 marked International Women’s Day with an emphasis on promoting women-led businesses and fostering economic independence. The event was held in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad and the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry to showcase the commercial skills of women traders and attract a broad base of women customers.
In line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a fully cashless system was introduced at the Ramadan Bazaar to modernize transactions and make trading more secure and convenient for women vendors. Special arrangements and dedicated stalls for women sellers highlighted a variety of products, including organic, natural and chemical-free food items that businesswoman Shazia Imran said are attracting health-conscious customers.
Officials from the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry and participating traders praised the initiative as a timely boost for women entrepreneurs. Vice President Rabia Farhan described the bazaar as a meaningful gesture for women on International Women’s Day and pointed to the abundant business opportunities created by the market, which will remain open in Sector G-11 through Eid-ul-Fitr.
Customers welcomed the availability of essential goods at reasonable rates while the CDA said it has implemented strict price monitoring similar to other Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars. The administration, citing directions from Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, stressed that modern facilities at the site are intended to support both consumers and traders and that the Ramadan Bazaar will contribute to the long-term economic well-being of women in the federal capital.
