Commemorating Marka-e-Haq with National Cultural Tribute

Islamabad, 6 May 2026 — A vibrant cultural ceremony at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts brought singers, musicians, artists and dancers together as the National Heritage and Culture Division marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq 2025 and honoured the nation’s heroes.

The programme, attended by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi as chief guest, featured a blend of mili naghmas, musical presentations and artistic performances representing the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

Performers presented songs in Sindhi, Balochi, Pashto and Punjabi, offering tributes to the ghazis, martyrs and veterans while guitar segments and other musical pieces added contemporary textures to the evening. The focus on Marka-e-Haq remained central throughout the programme.

A large and varied audience witnessed the event, including specially invited Chinese guests, women lawyers, government officials, students and members of civil society, many attending in cultural dress to reflect the occasion.

In his address, Minister Khichi paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, martyrs and veterans and said the nation had shown unity and resilience during Marka-e-Haq. He described the events of May 6 and 7 as a defining chapter in national history and called attacks on civilians and places of worship a violation of international law and human values.

The minister emphasised that Pakistan’s response had been decisive and effective, reaffirming that the country would make no compromise on its sovereignty and security and calling the action a manifestation of national resolve, courage and honour.

Khichi lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for guiding the nation through a critical period and praised Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir for his strategic vision and firm leadership. He said the armed forces not only repelled aggression but also strengthened public confidence and emerged as a symbol of national strength and stability.

Highlighting his ministry’s role, the minister noted ongoing efforts to promote Pakistan’s cultural heritage while recognising national heroes, and he commended PNCA and partner institutions for organising the commemorative event. He urged the nation to remain united for Pakistan’s security, development and prosperity and to keep alive the legacy of sacrifices made by the country’s heroes.
