In Madrid, Ambassador Dr. Zahoor Ahmed signed the Instrument of Accession formalizing Pakistan’s membership of the International Olive Council. The Executive Director of the International Olive Council, Mr. Jaime Lillo, officially welcomed Pakistan to the IOC.
Pakistan olive sector membership of the IOC will strengthen cooperation in olive cultivation, research, capacity building, quality standards and market development. The accession opens avenues for technical collaboration and alignment with international quality frameworks that can support the sector’s development.
Officials say the partnership with the IOC is set to support the growth of Pakistan’s olive sector by enhancing research links, improving capacity building initiatives and promoting higher quality standards and market development opportunities for Pakistani producers.
