Ministry Orders Probe into Cambridge Paper Leak

Federal Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has voiced deep concern over the alleged Cambridge paper leak, saying the incident has caused significant anxiety and uncertainty for thousands of students and their families. He highlighted the emotional toll on candidates who prepare for examinations with dedication and honesty and underlined the need to restore confidence in the system.

The minister described the matter as extremely serious, noting that similar reports emerged last year. He called on Cambridge to further strengthen its examination security, tighten protocols and enhance monitoring mechanisms so that the processes are tamper-proof and able to withstand attempts to compromise assessment integrity.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has directed the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) to open immediate contact with Cambridge authorities to ensure a full investigation, establish the facts and implement urgent measures that protect students’ interests. The IBCC has been asked to coordinate closely with Cambridge to expedite clarifications and remedial actions.

The minister reaffirmed that the government will not compromise on students’ educational futures, the transparency of examinations or the protection of merit. He urged all relevant institutions to act with seriousness and accountability to prevent recurrence and to safeguard exam credibility following the Cambridge paper leak.

Emphasising the local impact, officials said swift and transparent steps are needed to ease stress for Pakistani candidates and to rebuild trust. Immediate coordination between national boards and Cambridge authorities is expected to focus on securing paper distribution, strengthening oversight and communicating outcomes to affected students and parents.
