The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, attended the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet of the Khyber Society of America as the chief guest on 8 June 2026 in New York.
Speaking to members and guests, the Consul General congratulated the incoming office-bearers and commended the Khyber Society for its sustained work in promoting unity, preserving cultural heritage and advancing community engagement among Pakistani-Americans, particularly those with roots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted how the Khyber Society’s activities contribute to a stronger community identity abroad.
Mr. Atozai emphasized the important role of diaspora organisations in strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering a positive image of Pakistan overseas. He expressed his best wishes to the new cabinet and reaffirmed the Consulate’s support for programmes and initiatives that serve and empower the community.
The Consul General’s participation underscored the mission of the Consulate to engage with community groups, and signalled continued collaboration with the Khyber Society as it implements its agenda in the coming term.
